It is that time of year again, Collaborate 2017, when the worldwide JD Edwards community gathers in Las Vegas, to learn from each other, share tips and success stories, learn what is new and planned for JD Edwards and, of course, attend the highlight of the week: Lyle Ekdahl’s keynote.

Lyle Ekdahl’s keynote at Collaborate is the event that no one in the JD Edwards community wants to miss, and, as always, Lyle did not disappoint!  Lyle and his team shared insights on ERP and IT and, of course, spoke about the strategic guidelines and roadmap for the coming months and years.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 | Continuous Innovation

To set the context, a few stats:

  • 2,400 downloads of E1 9.2 since its release, 18 months ago: this is the most successful release ever!
  • Nevertheless today, only 25% of the install base is using 9.2.
  • Most customers are planning an upgrade in the next 12-24 months,
  • The expectation is that more than 60% of the install base will be on 9.2 in two years’ time.

One of the reasons for the speed of adoption is the continuous innovation brought in by the development team in Denver: more than 160 features have been added since November 2015 on every aspect of the solution: functional, technical, user interface:

New functionalities:

  • Global Revenue Recognition,
  • Project Forecasting,
  • One View Financial Reporting
  • Low code/No code – UX One, UDO’s
  • Internet of things, and connectivity in general

Lyle reminded us that:

The strength of digital technologies—social, mobile, analytics, cloud—doesn’t lie in the technologies individually. Instead, it stems from how companies integrate them to transform their businesses.”
