It is a very interesting talk, worth watching, on how Oracle has “crossed the chasm” from being purely an on-premise Enterprise Software supplier to being an On-premise and Cloud supplier.

Larry Ellison said “Oracle is the only company on the planet that can deliver a complete, integrated, standards-based suite of services at every layer of the cloud. Those technology advantages enable us to be much more cost-effective than our competitors. Our new Archive Storage service goes head-to-head with Amazon Glacier and it’s one-tenth their price.” Read the full Oracle Cloud Press Release

• Applications: Software as a Service (SaaS)
• Platform (PaaS): Database, Middleware, Analytics, Integration. All the technologies to move all your data into cloud, Java, NoJS, Rubys and multiple programming languages. 
• Infrastructure (IaaS): Compute service, Storage service, Open Stack, Linux, XenVM...
  
  
• Complete Cloud Application Suite: Oracle offers a complete, comprehensive suite of Enterprise Applications in the cloud:CX, HCM, ERP, EPM, Supply Chain, Manufacturing (coming later this year) with a common denominator: social. 
  
  
• Co-existence  of on-premise & Cloud: With Oracle, Cloud and on-premise are completely compatible and you can move from the on-premise to the Cloud ( and back again) with jus the push of a button.
