Getting the Right Things Done – Don’t be a Busy fool

Peter Drucker in his classic book The Effective Executive tells us that there “is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.” Of course, this makes total sense, nothing revolutionary there (I think we have all, by now, done that time management course with the urgent/ important matrix), but the problem is, is that sometimes, with all our running around from meeting to meeting, preparing presentations, answering emails, keeping up to date on industry trends, we just don’t have time to sit back and take a long hard look at where we are really adding value.

Isn't it ironic that figuring out how to make the best use of your time actually takes time? It also takes courage. Your colleagues may not understand why you are refusing to attend their meeting and suggesting a different way of doing things always raises a few eyebrows.

Get on Top of the Data before it Gets on Top of You - Optimize your ERP Data

One major time sucker for IT teams is database administration and maintenance. With your ERP system touching every part of your business and generating ever-increasing amounts of data, routine backups and maintenance can start to take longer and longer (don’t you just love spending your weekend with your colleagues).

There is a way around this, by purging and archiving your ERP data and keeping only the most business-critical, frequently accessed information in production you can significantly cut time spent on database administration.

Of course, this project takes time, you will have to invest time to save time…but wasn’t that one of your New Year’s resolutions?

The good news is that once you make the decision to archive your ERP data we can help you do this quickly and efficiently. We have developed a JD Edwards data management as a service solution ( DMaaS) where we take care of all your JDE data archiving needs.

What are you waiting for? Start working smarter and get your JDE EnterpriseOne and World Software in shape for 2019.
