We would like to introduce you to some of the great women in tech team members at Redfaire International.
Meet Britt Horstink who works with our Dutch partner Cadran as a Junior JD Edwards Logistics Consultant.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am 25 years old, and I live in Amsterdam, though I am originally from the east of the Netherlands. Prior to joining Cadran, I studied in Groningen here in the Netherlands where I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, specializing in technology management. I also completed a Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management.
How did you get started working with Oracle ERP?
Thanks to a friend from university, I heard about Cadran. It sounded like an interesting challenge and a good place to work. That was over a year and a half ago, and here I am! I am enjoying the role and learning lots.
What is your role?
As a Junior Logistics Consultant, I focus on helping customers optimize their logistics business processes using Oracle ERP. I also get to contribute ideas on how we can develop our Commodity Trading and Risk Management product from a logistics perspective.
What does your typical day look like?
At the end of every day, I reflect on what I have achieved and set goals for the following day. Every morning, I review these goals and plan my day accordingly. In practice, this means talking to clients and colleagues to understand how we can optimize their ERP systems. Once we have a plan, then it is time to execute the tasks.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
My favorite thing about my job is that every day there is a new challenge. You need to be creative and resilient as you figure out how to optimize the system so that it meets the client's unique needs. Often, it is a delicate balancing act, and you have to combine your knowledge, experience, and technical skills to find the perfect solution. Of course, working with a great team is also important. We work hard but we have a lot of fun while doing it.
Tell us More?
When I am not working, I like cooking and baking, especially cakes and cupcakes. I also enjoy going out for dinner or meeting friends for drinks at the Amstel (especially in the summer!) or at one of the other cozy bars in Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a great place to live, one of my favorite things is to walk by the canals in the evenings as all the beautiful lights come on, it's magical.
