JD Edwards Release 25 is here and one of the exciting announcements was the release of the JD Edwards Sustainability Framework which simplifies and streamlines environmental data collection. This new feature is available to all EnterpriseOne 9.2 users, regardless of Tools Release.
Environmental data such as energy consumption, fuel usage, and other vital environmental factors spread across different business processes are captured within JD Edwards' core modules. The data is stored in the Sustainability Activity Ledger which is used to calculate GHG emissions.

JD Edwards will also provide flexibility to enter and modify the activity data directly in the repository. An audit trail will be provided to track all the changes made to sustainability activity ledger records.
JD Edwards will not automatically calculate or estimate carbon emissions based on the data input. Instead, the Sustainability Framework is intended to serve as a foundational platform for environmental data management and reporting, leaving the calculation of carbon emissions to be performed through external methods or software.
A good option for JD Edwards users is to look at Oracle Cloud Enterprise Performance Management for Sustainability which helps integrate financial and nonfinancial data so that you can fulfill your reporting requirements and plan and manage your ESG practices.
