Doing More & Better with Oracle JD Edwards on OCI

Implementing JD Edwards on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure has been one of the key pillars in MBWS’s growth strategy. As the company sought to boost profitability and expand internationally, it was faced with the classic challenge of improving core processes while at the same time implementing processes in new and growing markets.  

To help them achieve their goals, Stéphane Jourdain and his team looked to consolidate more than 10 legacy applications. They reviewed a range of ERP solutions including SAP, but JD Edwards ERP emerged as the clear winner. MBWS chose JD Edwards because it was a proven solution, one of the key differentiators was the JDE Blend Management module that addresses the production requirements of the agri-beverage industry.

MBWS has almost 40% of its IT Applications in the Cloud so using JDE on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure made strategic sense. JD Edwards on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is managed using Redfaire’s Cloud 9 Service – this gives the IT team time to focus on process improvement and innovation. OCI also made financial sense given the company’s international reach and with an Oracle-on-Oracle implementation, the company has bolstered its cybersecurity.

Slowing Down to Move Faster

There was a real partnership between Vigilens and MBWS. Stéphane and the team ensured that time was taken to look after the people involved in the project. Fittingly, for a brand that helps to create moments of “convivialité” a key ingredient to the project’s success was the monthly Happy Tuesday cocktail. Every Tuesday the team got together to informally debrief and have fun all while drinking the signature cocktail developed for the project.
