You can see full details on all the enhancements here. The good news is that premier support  for JD Edwards is guaranteed until at least 2035, but this is not just support, really what this means is that product development will continue till at least 2035.

Some of the highlights in Release 25 include:

Simplified User Experience

Release 25 focuses on enhancing usability with several key updates:

  • License Plate Workbench Usability Enhancements: Improved interface for better navigation and efficiency.
  • Assign Delinquency Fees to Business Unit of Invoice: More precise financial management.
  • Edit Tax Information in Manual Billing Lines: Greater flexibility in handling tax data.

Automating Business Processes

Automation is at the heart of Release 25, with new integrations and templates to streamline operations:

    • Enterprise Automation: Procure to Pay Integrated with Warehouse: Seamless procurement and inventory management.
    • Enterprise Automation: Order to Cash Integrated with Warehouse: Enhanced order processing and fulfillment.
    • Process Model Templates: Ready-to-use templates for Procure to Pay and Order to Cash processes, reducing setup time and complexity.

The process modeler looks really powerful and gives users the ability to automatically model any JDE process based on order activity rules in the system.  Once the model is created it can be refined with filters to only show information relevant for the customer (may want to exclude certain statuses, or date ranges for example) and choose what the numeric on the nodes and links display (change from count to quantity to value for example).

Enriched Feature Functionality

The new release also brings enriched functionalities to support sustainability and financial operations:

  • Sustainability Foundation:: Tools to track and manage environmental impact.
  • Two-way Voucher Match Automation: Simplified and accurate voucher processing.
  • Increased Range of Account ID: Expanded capabilities for financial tracking and reporting.

JD Edwards Sustainability Framework

The Sustainability Activity Ledger in JD Edwards will now track environmental data, allowing businesses to use their preferred reporting software. One option is Oracle EPM, which supports various reporting standards, adding significant value for customers who maintain up-to-date systems.

JD Edwards & AI Integration

JD Edwards continues to support the choice and control model, enabling clients to leverage their preferred AI services. For example, the receipt-to-expense process can be automated by AI using this simple four-step process.

  1. Authenticate to OCI Services.
  2. Upload a Scanned Image to OCI using Object Storage Service.
  3. Use Document Understanding AI Service to Extract Data.
  4. Create a JDE Expense Report Item and Attachment with the Extracted Data.

New Tools Release Driving Digital Transformation

There are some really useful tools upgrades coming out which will help drive Digital Transformation

  • Use form extensions to add Row and Form exits which will allow orchestrations to be associated – this works like a button that can be added to the screen, but does not require the space, which can be a problem.

  • We will be able to add Text and Images on EnterpriseOne Pages, so not only will we be able to launch applications, reports and orchestrations, but put additional information about what the page is helping the user to process.

  • We will be able to use comparative criteria in queries – for example, where the planned completion date is less than the actual completion date.

  • Widgets will be available later in R25.  At the moment we can have record counts displayed on a page, but widgets will allow simple graphical representation of orchestration output on a page, even output that is in array format.
