We'd like to introduce you to some of the many great Women in Tech who work at Redfaire International and Partner Companies | Kerry Cadley
How did you get started working with Oracle ERP?
I’ve worked in IT support my entire career starting in the Civil Service straight from University in the early 90s. It wasn’t my ambition to work in IT but this first graduate job gave me the work experience I needed to secure a job in London using my degree in French; this time working for an air freight company supporting & training users around the EMEA region. I joined JD Edwards in 1997 and was trained on JD Edwards World Software (A73) Distribution modules before moving on to OneWorld and then Oracle’s EnterpriseOne ERP.
What is your role?
My role is Global Support Director so I have responsibility for the delivery of 24x7x365 support to our global customer base.
What does your typical day look like?
My typical day consists of meetings with members of my team, ensuring we meet the expectations of our customers & planning how to drive the business forward.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
I love the analytical aspect of my job; investigating a problem and finding a solution.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of being part of a team that has grown from just 4 people when I joined in 2004 to over 60 people today.
What has been your greatest challenge?
I’ve worked from home for over 20 years so I would say my greatest challenge has been to find ways to develop relationships with customers and colleagues outside the traditional office environment.
Any advice for graduates, particularly women who may be considering a career in Tech?
We live in a world where technology touches every aspect of our daily lives. A career in Tech provides so many opportunities. Whether your degree is directly related to Tech or something completely different, you can carve out a challenging, constantly-evolving and rewarding career for yourself. Give it a go!
Tell us More?
I have two grown up children who are both living away at University so recently decided to fill my empty nest with a puppy. I live in Lytham which is on the Fylde coast in Lancashire so lots of opportunity for bracing dog walks on the beach.
